We used this motorized projection screen to replace a smaller, 4:3 ratio motorized screen. I researched several vendors and manufacturers, and this was by far the best value for our dollars.
I was impressed with how easy it was to hang (by myself - though it is advised to have a helper) and connect. It seems lighter than the smaller screen it replaced. We have the screen in a (200+ seat) church and it looks great.
We had an up/down/stop controller made by a different manufacturer connected to the old motorized screen, and it was (eventually) easy to connect to the new screen, and it works seamlessly. I did have to search through Akia's website to find a wiring diagram, and it took a while to find one, but once I did, it was easy to connect to controller. Of course, the screen came with a remote control, and right out of the box, the remote was able to control the screen from the very back of the room (and anywhere else in the room).
I only wish we could adjust the limit settings so that we could minimize the black band at the top of the screen. There is an approx. 12" black band at the top, and it is noted in the screen specs and dimensions. I was hoping that it could be adjusted by changing an articulation limit setting, but it can't. And to be fair, the manufacturer gives no indication you can adjust the limits; I was just hoping we could.
Other than that, this projection screen is a great performing, affordable option for a motorized screen for medium-sized venues.
